Our Story
In 2015, our directors established Sapientis Advisory with a primary focus on advisory services in finance, a specialty area of expertise. Initially centered on Finance Advisory and Finance Resourcing, connecting to our recruitment proficiency within the Sapientis Group, our aim was to assist clients in these areas. As our clients faced evolving challenges, our scope expanded to encompass crucial areas such as Governance, Risk Management, Finance and Assurance, and Company Secretarial responsibilities, which have been integral to our services since 2020.
Meet the Leadership Team
Mathilda Dzumbunu
Mathilda, an accomplished non-executive director at Sapientis, boasts over two decades of executive-level experience in corporate governance, finance, and company secretariat. With an Honours Degree in Accounting and a Masters of Business Administration, she seamlessly blends academic prowess with practical expertise. Beyond corporate leadership, Mathilda is a distinguished entrepreneur, founder of Aquamist Beverages, and recipient of the 2019 Women in Business first prize.
As co-founder of St. Angela Academy in 2015, she champions education with commendable academic results. In the financial sector, Mathilda serves on the RBZ board as Deputy Chairman and heads the Audit and Oversight Committee. Her past role as Chairman of the People's Own Savings Bank saw her implement successful turnaround strategies. Mathilda’s dynamic career, marked by academic achievements, reflects her commitment to excellence and positive transformation.
Nyasha Madavo
Nyasha is a seasoned finance professional with a dynamic, results-driven approach honed within a "big 4" firm. As the former CFO of a leading South African business incubation company, she played a pivotal role in driving financial excellence, enhancing governance and risk management to support the strategic vision. Her expertise spans multi-million-rand organizations, medium-sized entities, and start-ups, showcasing adaptability between corporate demands and start-up agility.
Passionate about fostering business sustainability, she leverages her diverse background, which extends beyond traditional financial realms, to enhance and optimise governance, financial performance and risk management in every organization she touches. Her commitment to excellence and client service is evident in her strategic leadership approach as an Executive Director of Sapientis Advisory. Nyasha is a Chartered Accountant (SA), a Certified Director and she holds a Bachelor of Business Science Degree (Finance and Accounting) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Cape Town.
